The feedstock, heads, legs, carcasses, viscera, is fed to the batch cooker by means of a screw or a pump to be cooked and dehydrated.
After two hours of cooking, a fatty meal paste is obtained. This fatty meal is then sent to a single screw high pressure press separating the liquid phase, the fat, from the solid phase, the protein.
The solid phase with a maximum content of fat of about 13% is sent to a breaker to obtain a pulverized meal. After milling, the meal is transported mechanically with a screw or pneumatically.
Storage is done in silos equipped with a hydraulic screw unloader.
The fat from the press and from the drain screw is centrifuged in a horizontal centrifuge to separate the fat from the foots.
